Retirees Say Players Shouldn’t Have Negotiated for Them


With the N.F.L. and the players required to finish the final terms of a collective bargaining agreement. Retired N.F.L. players plan to file a letter with the National Labor Relations Board on Monday raising concerns about how the then-decertified players union negotiated retiree benefits.
The retiree lawsuit was consolidated by Judge Susan Nelson with the Brady v. N.F.L. antitrust suit filed after the players union decertified. Nelson then ordered current players, retired players and the league into court-supervised mediation.
